In other news…
On December 5th at VenueMOT in South East London, My Panda Shall Fly will play one of the first Workshop System live shows, as part of Factory Settings (Tickets here).
I’ve spent last six weeks revising circuit boards, parts lists and code, nervously waiting for deliveries, spending time with excellent people like Yaw Evans, Tony Nwachukwu, Tunç Çakır, Rob Shuttleworth, Durrell Bishop, making short videos and writing documentation.
Documentation like the Workshop System Quick Start guide.
As you can see in my epic chat with Mylar Melodies, it’s hard to explain everything you can do with the Workshop System, because it’s so open. I can explain that this is an oscillator and this is a filter. But there are trillions (specifically Σ (from k = 1 to 24) of C(276, k)) of ways to patch all those elements together.
So perhaps itt’s more about developing a way of thinking than reading an instruction manual.
Besides that, I’ve enjoyed the small community of developers writing code for the Workshop System Computer — the last few weeks have seen a real explosion of ideas and prototypes. I’ll be sharing work in progress pieces here and look forward to seeing what emerges. If you want to join that community, email me and I’ll send a Discord link. Here’s the latest Workshop Computer Documentation, but frameworks and templates are evolving all the time.
Here are about five hours of YouTube videos about the Workshop System:

See you in a month…
